It was a wonderful event that still triggers new thoughts as I ruminate on the conversations I had. The ability to leap into a fairly deep debate on something most people have never heard of was thrilling, and I have a new bevy of people to bounce my understanding off of before I publish something silly.

Sounds like it was a good time. Didn't see if there were any sci-fi authors/thinkers in attendance. Were there?

I am curious as to how someone can participate in the progress community. Not only is space limited or course but someone must be "qualified." It's a bit odd to see all the public kudos for an event as if there is a push to drum up interest. While it sounds like you are working on ideas to grow I think it is crucial to expand what sound like rich debates beyond the same tiny valley and Austin communities that have these discussions every day. It has never been more important to foster optimism and a belief in the future in many more parts of our country

Join the progress community Slack: https://join.slack.com/t/progressstudies/shared_invite/zt-3cps66zh0-mryZcYog5y5VSxIDZ3VycQ

You could also organize a local meetup (the Slack has meetup channels for different cities).

Also, next year we're going to try to open up some of our events to a much bigger audience!
